As a fan of green crafting and repurposed materials, I was delighted by Darn Good Yarn’s Lux Adventure Black Yarn. The quality of this soft, yet strong, yarn was undeniable, and I love that it’s made with recycled fiber. At first glance, I’d say this yarn is black, but on closer inspection it becomes clear that strands of colored silk are spun into the yarn. The flashes of green, purple, orange, and white give this black silk yarn character and depth.
Besides being a lovely skein of yarn, the Lux Adventure Yarn is made with recycled fibers, meaning that this yarn helps cut down on waste. What’s better than knitting and helping the environment at the same time? Darn Good Yarns are handspun by women’s groups in Nepal, so these skeins support families around the globe. On the fiber side of things, the handspun silk has a slightly varied thickness that will add an additional element of visual engagement to your project.
