Custom yarn: it sounds like a dream come true, doesn’t it?  The ability to specify yarn weight, fiber content, color and more is something I’d guess many crafters have fantasized about for years.  Yarnia is the first company I’ve come across that actually gives the buyer the ultimate power.  If you have a particular project in mind, Yarnia can supply you with the perfect yarn.  You buy yarn from Yarnia in bulk, by the pound, making it perfect for big projects like sweaters or afghans. 

I was able to take a close look at a skein of yarn from Yarnia, and the company clearly creates a delightful product.  The pink variegated yarn is marvelously soft, and has a silky sheen.  The yarn was a little thin, so I created a swatch with three strands of yarn.  Knitted up, the colors blend together a little more, creating a harmonious look.  The different types of fiber within the yarn give the knitted product a charming variety of hues, and a slightly rough-spun look.  I was really very impressed with how nicely the yarn knitted.  I was a little worried that the thin yarn might make for difficult knitting, but it was smooth sailing the whole way through.
