Fall Feast Wine Cozy

Materials:

• Patons® Classic Wool Worsted™ (3.5 oz/100 g; 200 yds/192 m)
  • Main Color (MC) Heath Heather (77215) 1 ball
  • Contrast A Burgundy (00208) 1 ball
  • Contrast B Aran (00202) 1 ball
• Set of four size U.S. 6 (4 mm) and U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) double-pointed knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• Stitch marker

GAUGE
20 sts and 26 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking stitch with larger needles.

MEASUREMENTS
To fit average 25 oz (750 ml) wine bottle.

INSTRUCTIONS

With smaller set of needles and MC, cast on 52 sts. Divide sts onto 3 needles. Join in rnd, placing marker on first st.
1st rnd: *K2. P2. Rep from * around. Rep last rnd of (K2. P2) ribbing until work from beg measures 1" [2.5 cm].
 

Change to larger set of needles.
Next rnd: Knit, inc 2 sts evenly around. 54 sts.
 

Note: When working from chart, carry colors not in use loosely across WS of work, but never over more than 5 sts. When they must pass over more than 5 sts, weave them over and under center point of sts they pass over. The colors are never twisted around one another.
 

Proceed in Chart, reading rows from right to left, noting 6-st rep will be worked 9 times, until 23 rows of Chart have been completed. Break A and B.
 

With MC only, knit even in rnds until work from beg measures 6" [15 cm].
Next rnd: Knit, dec 2 sts evenly around. 52 sts.
Change to smaller set of needles.
Work in (K2. P2) ribbing for 2" [5 cm].
Cast off in ribbing.
