Mittens for Detroit
Mittens for Detroit (MFD) has been warming hands and hearts since the organization was founded in November 2010 by Actress Erin Cummings and a dedicated team of volunteers. MFD exists solely to provide new, unused mittens and gloves to those in need - both children and adults - in metro Detroit. MFD is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, operating under the fiscal sponsorship of North Woodward Community Foundation. The gloves and mittens are distributed through our 12 partner charities, and while we receive many children's and women's gloves and mittens, we have a great need for men's sizes. Mittens should be durable, easily washable, and if made for children under the age of 3, they should not have embellishments such as beads (for safety reasons). Feel free to attach a tag with a greeting and “handmade by…” to your pairs! THANK YOU!
