Summer Day Beach Bag
If you're searching for a summer design that's both colorful and easy, this Summer Day Beach Bag is just what you need. Knitting bags doesn't have to be difficult and this pattern proves that. Composed mostly of knit stitches, this pattern will allow a new knitter to practice the yarn over stitch as well as k2tog (knit two together).
Knitting Needle Size7 or 4.5 mm
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Instructions:
CO 40 STS.
Knit 4 rows then begin pattern
R1: Knit
R2: K5, *YO, K2tog. To last 5 sts. K5
Repeat these two rows until piece is 9 inches or desired length, then knit 4 more rows.
BO you will make 2 pieces.(front and back)
Sew bottom and sides up. I made a twisted cord and threaded it through the first row under the garter st. rows.
Note from designer: This bag is small but it holds a lot and is perfect for the beach. Easy to stash under a towel, beach chair or in a locker.

I made it, but I didn't make two pieces-I made it in one piece and only had to sew up the sides! where it said to bind off I simply started the pattern over again-I hate sewing so anything to not have to do it is great for me! happy knitting!

Why do I have to sign in every time I want to save a pattern? I have checked the bo many times for my login and password to be remembered, but every time I open the site I have to sign in again to save anything? Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with this pattern. It is really quite nice. I made the bag but will do another one a bit larger. Also, I'll make both the front and back on a circular needle. Use the center yarn from the skein for one side and the outside yarn from the skein for the other.

Can you tell me if something is wrong with this pattern's directions or did I just not understand them. I started the piece and it going diagonal (going side ways) Is there anyway that you can help me.???? Thanks for any information that could HELP!!! It says for beginners and I have been knitting a long time, but nothing of much difficulty.

You have to knit the yarn over-it is creating the stitch for the next row, you only drop the yo in a pattern when the pattern specifies to do so. hoep this helps.
