Talented knitting designer Anna Hrachovec delivers cute and quirky creations, yet again, with her latest release: Super-Scary Mochimochi: 20+ Cute & Creepy Creatures To Knit. While described as super-scary, these little knit critters are nothing short of adorable. From the classic monsters like the teenage werewolf (p. 53), to the unexpected toaster ghost (p. 106), this group of more than 20 patterns is a must-have book for knitters who appreciate Hrachovec's creative imagination. While it's challenging to pick a favorite — Hrachovec's patterns each top the design featured previously as you turn the pages, delving deeper into her imagination — the Sour Tooth (p.89) definitely makes it to my top three. After all, who could resist a giant tooth, with baby teeth, holding a lollipop?
Aside from the eccentric designs already created by Hrachovec, don't think the fun ends there. Once the reader gets a feel for knitting up itty bitty monsters, Hrachovec lets you invent your own minions with the Mix 'n' Match monsters section starting on p. 110. Here you'll be able to pick and choose your favorite features from each of the monsters and make your own unique, super-scary critter companion.
The verdict: Highly recommended, especially if you're a fan of author Anna Hrachovec's previous work.

Hard to say as I can't get past an ad for an obnoxious search engine.
