Basic Un-Baby Blanket
You don't need to be a baby to appreciate this cute knit baby blanket. In fact, you might find yourself a little envious of the child who ends up with the Basic Un-Baby Blanket. Luckily, you can easily adjust this pattern to make an adult sized throw or afghan. Beginning knitters will love this simple knitted baby blanket pattern. The diagonal striped design is created using both the garter stitch and reverse stockinette stitch, making it a great first blanket project for any knitter to tackle.

This pattern would be good using a variegated yarn. You could get a similar look without using multiple yarns.

I love the name of this blanket. My son's best friend's wife jut had a boy and she wanted things not too baby like. She will love this blanket and she will love the name as well. I have the yarn and it should work up quickly. It is a variation on a bias blanket but it adds a nice touch. It also will be good for the charity knitting I do. Thank you.

This is another take on a traditional bias knit baby blanket. The designer's choice of colors is lovely. She suggests if you want different colors to choose two darks and two brights but I bet it would be just as pretty in pastels. The pattern is a basic one and can be accomplished by knitters of all levels.
