Thank you for this great tutorial. I am not an advanced knitter and would normally have never attempted this pattern. Your tutorial shows that even I can make this wonderful blanket for my little grandson. Shall upload a picture of my blanket as soon as I am finished!

The title of the pattern is Box Stitch Preemie Baby Blanket. Hence it's small size.

This pattern makes a small blanket that would be good for a preemie baby. Many hospitals take donations of blankets and are often in need of smaller blankets like this one. I knit for charity so this looks like a great pattern to try. I like using two colors at once, too, makes it very pretty.

I knitted a different blanket and it turned out too lacy to be functional. Toes were stuck, etc. This one looks warm and I think I might avoid the issues with the other one. I hope I find time to get this done, it looks small? Perhaps I will make it larger. Thanks for the info on the markers and straight needles. Always good to learn more stuff!

Hey there i am a beginner knitter and i have never used markers before. i don't really understand the use for them in this pattern also i don't have circular needles but i do have 14'' straight needles would these be okay to use instead?

The place markers are just to keep the edges the same width. You can see or even remember the three knit stitches after you get started, but it might be a good idea to use them for a few rows. As far as using straight needles instead of a circular one, I have done that before, as long as the pattern is for row knitting instead of round knitting. You might have to scrunch up the stitches, but it should be fine.

A blanket that is soft and cuddly and most of all easy to knit! The four row pattern seems easy to knit while watching TV! This pattern is definitely on my to make list using leftover yarn! Does anyone have suggestions on how I could make this in two or three colors?

This blanket is very tiny - 16 x 14. However its simple and should knit up quickly on the large 6mm needles and the two strands of DK yarn. Its a lovely pattern and the author provides directions for increasing the size of the blanket using multiples of 4. For every 8 stitches you end up with another 2 inches of width.

hi, I love this pattern, I'm new here btw, but I'm using 4mm and 12lpy and it seems to be taking forever, do you mind if I change up your pattern and make it unique to me? I would like to graduate the squares make them larger and add a few extra stitches every 4 rows.

Loved this pattern for a quick knit and pretty baby blanket. I used two strands of Bernat Baby Sport yarn in "Baby Ombre" and enlarged it by 24 stitches to make it about 22" wide. My second grandchild was "unknown" 'till birth, so the yarn and pattern were a great choice and "mama" loved it. Thanks for sharing it!
