Love this pattern and I used your heart pattern to feature on a bib I made for my new grandson! My first attempt at "changing or combining two patterns".

Hi, this is an easy pattern to expand, it would make a lovely gift for your son and daughter-in-law to treasure. Each heart block (with a border section) measures 5" and uses 25 stitches so if you want to make the blanket 45" in width instead of 30" (that is an extra 15" eg: 5" x 3) you would cast on an extra 75 stitches (25 x 3 more 5" blocks) and instead of repeating the first pattern row (P19, K6) 4 times, you would repeat it 7 times as you have added an extra 3 blocks. Use as many extra repeats as you need to get the size you want. Hope this helps :)

How hard would it be to expand this pattern to make an adult-sized blanket? My son is getting married in February, and this design would make a perfect wedding gift...
