You are right Dronerg, the afghan does have big holes which make it impractical for an infant. However, an older child would certainly enjoy this blanket, it looks pretty soft and cushy and kids love bright colors. I plan to knit it for my 3 year old nephew, now that he's outgrown the baby blankets.

This has far too many big holes for little fingers to get caught in. Not at all practical for a baby.
