I really love this pattern my knitting group knits for the shelters and not for profit organizations in our city, just 1 issue-I've read through the instructions 4 times now and for the life of me, I can't figure out what size Jenna is. I realize the creator customized the pattern to the intended recipient but even an approximate size would be helpful. any insight would be welcome.

can this be knitted on straight needles?

I would say yes as it is not written to join in the round. I think they suggested knitting back and forth on circular needles because of the large number of stitches cast on, and how heavy it must get.

It is knit flat, but would not fit on straight needles, that's why circulars are necessary, they are used to accommodate the large amount of stitches.
