This hat is so cute. I love the staghorn cables in the center of it. The yarn weight is listed incorrectly on this page though. It should say super fine. It is definitely not a pattern for a beginner, and you will need to know how to read knitting charts in order to complete it.

This hat looks really great once made. However, even as a very experienced knitter I struggled with the instructions as they are very brief and it requires you to refer from the instructions to a chart. It also states above that it is knitted in DK weight yarn but when you get to the pattern it is made using one strand of super fine mohair and one strand of super fine yarn, I made mine using pink DK and it worked out just as good. It also involves knitting in the round so you need to be able to use DPN's or a circular needle and it does not make it clear how to make the ears. I ended up putting it on my daughters head and tacking the ears together so that I got the shaping right.
