Love this pattern, the yarn is actually a #7 jumbo and the hat is done in an hour, including making pompom!

I have been looking for a pattern that can be used with a roving yarn. The yarn is thicker and would look perfect with this pattern. It will knit up fast which is a good thing because the cold weather will be here before we know it. Thank you.

This is a great pattern, which should knit up in an afternoon. I'm always looking for hats that can be knitted on flat needles. I really the new fashion for super thick wool - it's a great introduction to knitting. If you're looking for a first project this would be a good one to start with.
