With a bold look, the Cobalt Ruffled Scarf takes the blue ribbon. Unlike other ruffled scarves, this scarf knitting pattern has no short rows and is easier to make. Give this pattern a try and fall in love with the result.

The link takes you to a 404 permanent error page, I wonder if the pattern is gone or the link needs to be updated.

The pattern gives you full instructions for Rows 1 through 8. The increase row is Row 1, and then the "purl - knit" pattern for Rows 2 through 8. However, the rest of the instructions then say "repeat rows 1 - 8 three more times". This means that each time you repeat, your first row will be the increase row and the following 7 rows will be the "purl - knit" pattern. You will be increasing a total of 4 times: Row 1, then Row 9 (or the "second" Row 1), then Row 17 (or the "third" Row 1), then finally Row 25 (or the "fourth" and final Row 1). Hope this helps!

This pattern increases the first row of pattern, but only says to purl and knit the following rows. There must be other increase rows. Which rows get increased? Only the knit rows?

This is definitely something different from the tradition I grew up with. Can't wait to try
