Fibonacci Striped Garter Scarf
"This scarf is actually really easy. All you need to know is the knit stitch. You can also use the slip stitch at the beginning of most rows (but you don’t have to). I used the Fibonacci number sequence to determine how many rows of the main color before putting in 2 rows of the contrasting color. This is garter stitch pattern so I count “1” for every pair of rows. Simply count the “purl” rows on the right side to keep track of where you are. 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 21, 13, 8, 5, 3, 2, 1"
NotesThis scarf uses the Fibonacci number sequence to determine how many rows of the main color before putting in 2 rows of the contrasting color. The number is for two rows together as a pair. So you can count the “purl” rows on the right side to keep track of where you are.
1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 21, 13, 8, 5, 3, 2, 1
(for longer scarf, you can repeat 34 before starting back down. For shorter, start back down sooner).
The next number in the sequence: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8,13, 21, 34, 55, 79, etc. Just add last two numbers together for the next one.
