I am allergic to wool and was wondering what I could use as an alternative yarn. Thank you

You could use an acrylic #7 jumbo yarn, but you will lose some stitch definition but it will work.

You may want to try using a Super Bulky Cotton yarn like Lion Brand Side Dish. Cotton yarn will keep the definition of this pattern better than acrylic will. I havent been able to find an appropriate cotton yarn in Jumbo that would be a good substitute. I hope this helps.

This stitch pattern looks SO good in this jumbo yarn. And the color really shows off the stitches. This looks so soft and squishy. I wanna wear it!
