I love the yarn with its changing colors and the pattern, which creates an open, lacey but casual, look. A scarf would be great, but I am thinking of using this yarn and stitch work to create a summer poncho or even a swimsuit coverup. I'm inspired!

I prefer lacy scarves and this pattern looks perfect. It is lacy and yet not complicated. I can see where this would be a great stash buster if you have enough of the main color and can alternate the other colors.

Beautiful accessory that can be knit in a wide variety of yarns. Since its a scarf, gauge is not critical as long as you keep to a lace weight yarn, you should be able to achieve this effect. I love how the five colors subtly blend into each other too.

A great pattern for a beginner to learn yet another technique - can be knit in so many shades - pastels for spring and cool nights in summer when the cooler weather arrives, two scarves in co-ordinating colours add warmth -- amazing how the lacy patterns trap warmth

That looks like a perfect scarf to make in soft pastel colors now that spring is right round the corner! However, the pattern specifies 100% Merino wool that is has to be ordered online. Has anyone tried knitting this with a different kind yarn like that from craft stores like Joann or Michaels?

It's made with doubled strands of cobweb or lace weight yarns, not worsted and aran weight as stated on the AllFreeKnitting.com page.

How did this work out for you-I love the pattern but it calls for several strands of lace yarn not sportweight-but I'd love to know if it worked with sportweight yarn though. thanks.

I don't crochet so this is the one! I like that it is not solid, there for cooler for times when you don't need a heavy scarf.

My friend Mennesa loves scarves, she wears them all the time. But she somtimes complains about hot she is and ends up taking off her beautiful scarves. This will be perfect for her! I think she'll like it alot! Thx -The knittwit
