The diamonds are truly hidden. So hidden I didn't view the pattern. If I can't see it in a photo, I don't waste my time going further.

Yes, you are in fact missing something. Because of the texture of the yarn used in this project (Feza Yarns Tokyo- a flag yarn) knitting it in garter stitch over the specified width creates diamonds in the textile. (The Diamonds are created by the flags in the yarn falling into a diamond shape. You can see it better here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14311938@N05/5180123721/) Hence "hidden" diamonds. Hope this clarifies the design for you.

Unless i am missing something, knitting a garter stitch scarf is hardly creating a hidden diamond...Is there a misprint or ???
