This looks like a very useful and comfy stash buster pattern! You use two strands held together to knit so you could choose complimentary colors, or when I use two strands together I often make white (or off white, or beige) the second color, and that looks nice. Going to have to try these!

I assume you use two strands of yarn for these "adult knit booties"?

I'm sure you're right, it's not clearly indicated in the instructions until you get to the Note section and she mentions having to juggle 4 balls of yarn to make both slippers at the same time.

I love looking at all the neat patterns and things people make and share, they are not always a style I like myself but then the things I make are not always someone elses cup of tea but that is what is great about this world, we are not cloned :-) enjoy what you find and use what you like and leave the rest for those that like other things.

I am just trying to make these but can't work out row 3. I only have 17sts left instead of 19. Please help.

If you only ave 17 sts left at the end-look to your previous row-the increase was done twice, which would give you the correct stitch count moving forward.

My grandma knitted me these booties in the 60s. She made them for everybody. She has been gone for many years. I have a pair that she had made for my dad and have been wearing them. My 5 year old granddaughter is begging me to make her a pair but I cannot find a child's pattern. Do you have one available? Thanks so much.

Aloha, This is a great site and so very helpful. It is so sad there is so many ugly and hateful people out in cyper space and they really do not know how to be nice or use their computer. Great job, keep up the good work.

just in case any one reads the comments previous to this one.... all my needles are marked in mm but not all are marked in American size. if you think the pattern is ugly then do not use it, write your own. i have always had a great time on this site and met a lot of friends who have helped me with problems. remember, you get what you pay for and treat others as you wish to be treated. when you write an incredible pattern and post it here for free i will be first in line to thank you

Sorry, but what good is easy if they're ugly. Surely someone can come up with something more attractive to egg beginners on.

I love wearing knitted booties around the house because it does part of my housework for me! We have a lot of shedding cats and dogs and the hair automatically sticks to my slippers as I walk, then I change slippers when they get hairy and my floor has already been lightly swept! I can really tell the difference when I am wearing shoes or soled slippers as my floor has a lot more hair!
