Instructions
-
Take your first color of yarn and tightly wrap it around on half of your pom pom maker.
Pro Tip: With bulky yarn be sure to start wrapping it as close to the edge as possible. Try and include a lot of tension while you are wrapping it as well to really give you that density! -
Repeat step 1 with a different color, or the same color of yarn.
-
Cut another scrap of yarn.
-
Cut in the divot of your pom pom maker. Then, take that scrap of yarn you just cut, place it in the open divet, wrap it all the way around and tie a nice tight knot.
Pro Tip: After I tie my knot, I wrap around to the other side, tighten again and then tie another tight knot. -
Open the pom pom maker and pull it apart to reveal your pom pom.
Key Points to Success: To make a bigger bulkier pom pom, you can wrap a little more loosely and use a lot more yarn around it. -
To help even out your fibers, roll your pom pom around to relax those fibers. Then go in with your scissors and begin trimming your edges to get more of an even sphere shape.
