How to: Wind a Skein of Yarn
Learn how to wind a skein of yarn using a Niddy Noddy in this free tutorial. Once your yarn is transformed into skeins, they will be much easier to store until they're needed for a project. It also means that when you are ready to work on something new, you can simply grab a skein of yarn and start knitting!

I hope this helps. I found a video on youtube that does a better job of explaining the process AND how to get it off the noddy & make a skein. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=QdS4lZMcqGI&NR=1

As others have already said and I reiterate, please finish the video and tell us how to get the yarn off the contraption. And then does the skein pull from the center? Can't give it a rating since it's incomplete.

Okay...and then what??? There seems to be a step missing. After you've wrapped your yarn around this thing, what next??? What is the purpose of this. It says it "will transform your yarn in skeins". How??? Please fill in the missing link, because if it does something cool, I'm missing it.

I'm sorry, but I have just one question - WHY? I mean, seriously - what is the point of putting the yard on this contraption? Seems to me, using a yarn bottle to keep the skein in, keeps it from knotting up, keeps is neat and clean AND yer not going through this rig-a-marole just to use the yarn. Thanks - but no thanks!
