Waffle weave blankets are perfectly suited for layering. The holes allow the fabric to breathe while providing warmth and insulation. The pattern has such nice texture that it would look lovely tossed over the back of a sofa. I think I would like to make this up in a soft brushed cotton and perhaps in colored blocks or stripes for a special baby.
