Heartbreaker Scarf
"This flirty scarf is carefully cabled to make a pattern of XO's. But don't be intimidated, it looks more complicated than it really is. The cables are quite simple, and great for knitters who are just beginners at cabling. Thanks to its bulky yarn, this scarf knits up quickly. For a medium adult scarf, approximately 60 inches, two skeins of yarn should be fine. But if you prefer longer scarves, it might be a good idea to buy an extra."
Knitting Needle Size10 or 6 mm
Yarn Weight(5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches)

Instructions
CO 32 stitches.
Rows 1-4: knit.
Row 5 (rs): k11, p1, k8, p1, k11.
Row 6, and every even row (ws): k3, p8, k1, p8, k1, p8, k3. Row 7: k3, c2f, c2b, p1, c2b, c2f, p1, c2f, c2b, k3.
Row 9: repeat row 5.
Row 11: repeat row 7.
Row 13: Repeat row 5.
Row 15: k3, c2b, c2f, p1, c2f, c2b, p1, c2b, c2f, k3.
Row 17: repeat row 5.
Row 19: repeat row 15.
Repeat rows 5-20 until scarf reaches desired length.
I suggest stopping after a row 13, as that would mirror where the cabling pattern began. Then move on to the next step. Knit across 4 more rows to finish the border. Bind off and weave in all ends to finish.

Wow this pattern is gorgeous. I'd probably use it for something wider than a scarf, more like a blanket or throw.
