When I was in my late teens my mother knit me a watch cap in a pattern oh-so similar to this spiral rib cap. Needless to say, finding this pattern is a delight and I shall have to knit it between now and next winter, one for me and one for each of the girls she knit it in a deep oatmeal with a light green partial 'lining' that folded up to make a brim so that it matched a magnificent green fisherman knit sweater and another she knit in the oatmeal... what a way to start college with a collection of ten or so handknit sweaters and matching hats and caps.. still have the sweaters
