Ridge Stitch Square
"The Ridge Stitch Square creates a ridged columns with a combination of knit and purl stitches. This pattern is one of 30 free knitting patterns for 6" (15 cm) squares in the Anthology Blanket knit a long with Underground Crafter. Make your own baby blanket or throw while learning new stitches. This makes a great one color blanket, or a scrappy project using odds and ends from your yarn stash. Skills Used are Basic knitting skills: cast on, knit, purl, bind off, Knitting in rows."
Knitting Needle Size7 or 4.5 mm
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Materials List
- Approximately 41 yds (37.5 m) in any medium weight yarn.
- US Size 7/4.5 mm knitting needles, or any size needed to obtain gauge.
- Yarn needle.

A fun learning process knit squares instead of patched fabric squares, and you will have a hand - knit pram cover (of course hardly anyone uses prams or baby carriages any more we used a Victorian wicker pram on its high wheels and I wish I'd had these patterns to get my mind going. I'd have given each close and special friend the yarn and asked her to knit one of the squares - a special pram cover indeed. Or ask friends to knit a square or two to create a special crib spread.. how special it would be for a child in the future to look at the blanket aunts and cousins knit for him or her, now covering the next generation. A blanket of love
