Cast on 171 sts. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows: Knit 9 rows (garter st) noting first row is WS and placing a marker at end of last row.

2nd row: K4. *P1. K1. Rep from * to last 5 sts. P1. K4. Rep last row until work from last marker measures 5" [12.5 cm], ending on a WS row.
Next 2 rows: Knit, placing a marker at end of 2nd row.

Lately, a lot of the patterns do not have a picture. Therefore, it's impossible to see if it's even something I would want to knit. What's up with that?
