Instructions
Body

CO 56 (64, 72, 80) sts longtail
Place marker to join, being careful not to twist. -
Rnd 1: K all STS around.

Repeat Rnd 1 until hat measures 8 (9, 10, 11) from CO edge.
Shape Crown

Decrease Rnd 1: ​K2TOG around.

Repeat Decrease Rnd 1 until you can no longer work in the round.
Finishing
-
Break yarn, leaving a long tail. ​Use darning needle to thread yarn through remaining sts. Pull yarn tight and secure. Weave in all ends.

This is so cute and looks so easy to make. After reading over the instructions and material list, I see that it takes very little yarn and very little time to create. I dont like working with that many double pointed needles at once. It is very difficult. I think that is the one thing that makes this not a beginner friendly pattern.

This is a great simple pattern. You can make several in different sizes for your friends, their children and also for yourself. This will knit up in no time and you can use your stash. A lot of knitters have a stash. I also knit for charity and hats are always knitted. Thank you for the pattern.

I've made several dozen of these hats, my daughter wears them exclusively and I knit for the out of the cold project in my city.
